With posts to this thread apparently winding down, and the count so obviously in favour of the pointy-eared option, I think I'm going to have to call it. . .

Elves have pointy ears.

Thankfully for those of us in the "No" camp, the Barrow Downs is probably a parliamentary democracy, which means we can form His Barrow Wight's Loyal Opposition and continue to hurl abuse and scathing questions at the honourable members from across the floor who have carried the day (for now, for now. . .)

Coming soon: a poll to settle that other Middle-earth shattering debate. . .
