A MUSH(or MUD) is a text-based multiplayer 'adventure'. There are no graphics at all, and the screen output looks a bit like Zork, if you know that golden oldie, still the best pc adventure IMNSHO. There are many different types, the two main sorts being the hack-n-slash-like MUDS, where you can gain levels and that are primarily based on fighting and competition, and MUSHes, that are primarily based on socialising and roleplaying. What the BW(and others) is building is a MUSH.

(used to be Quam, but thought of a nicer, more Tolkien, name) </p>
