ok, so if Thorongil served under Thengal of Rohan, wouldn't you think that Theoden, being Thengals son, would remember him, I mean Theoden would be in his late teens or early twentys right, and he still would be able to remember.

Denethor recognized Aragorn when he came to gondor didnt he? I think Denethor and Aragorn were rivals under Ecthelion II
so why didnt Theoden recognize Aragorn when Gandalf and the thre hunters came to Rohan?
