Since Halloween is coming up soon, and since nobody has made a thread like this so far

, I thought that it would be neat to refresh our memories of everything scary that Tolkien imagined.

It can be a true story that Tolkien has mentioned in his books, or just something that really creeped you out. For example, the story about "Mad Baggins."
