All Time Favourite: 4 way tie between Aragorn, Legolas, Samwise, and Eowyn

Man: Aragorn (or Eomer if you don't want to use the same twice)

Woman: Eowyn (Mrs. Maggot if you don't want the same twice)

Elf: Legolas (Gildor if you want someone not in my all-round fav)

Hobbit: Samwise (Pippin if you don't want the same characteur twice)

Dwarf: Gimli.

Wizard: Gandalf the Grey

Bad Guy: Nazgul

Other: Tom Bombadil

(o and for the movies instead of books, just substitute Gollum for Tom Bombadil, Rosie for Mrs. Maggot and Arwen for Gildor.)
