And a very good one at that!
I'll take it, but a safer route would be: Vaire-> Mandos-> Manwe-> Gandalf and so on because while Aule and Gandalf most likely did know each other, it was Manwe who nominated Gandalf (Olorin) to go to Middle Earth as an Istari, so I would have done that, but you are correct anyways.
