Yeah but that wasn't a Balrog, was it? I thought it was one of those nasty Nazgūl birds. Anyways, I think it's stated clearly in the FotR that the Moria-balrog had wings, so why discuss that, or say that it's a metafor? That the Mount Doom had wings is obviously a metafor, but about balrogs; there are bird species that have wings, but doesn't fly. Even fish species. [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img] Sorry if all this is said before. Just came to my mind.
