I think the reason that they don't have them in the U.S. is that they are edible eggs with toys in them. And in the U.S. that is considered a choaking hazard.

That may be true, but they do have something called "Wonderballs" here in the States, which is a bit similar. They all have Disney related things in them though, to the best of my knowledge...and stickers or toys, if I remember rightly. For choking hazards they usually have a warning like "ages 3 and up" on the box or something like that.
