I don't think it was an inconsistency by the director... I believe the books said that the world dimmed and faded when Frodo put on the Ring, but that the Ringwraiths were now clearly visible...

PS: If someone had already said what I did (about the inconsistency...) what I really wanted to do was see if my shiny new Sephiroth gif works. [img]smilies/tongue.gif[/img]
