The dark elf listened to Thranduil as he spoke. In the Elvenking's words he saw both wisdom and compassion. Perhaps what he had heard of this elf lord was true. His kin had woven songs of the Battle of the Last Alliance. In those tales Thranduil had been a young warrior by his father's side, Oropher, in the battle field. King Oropher had joined his forces with Amdir of Lorinand to aid the elvenlords from the west. It was told that Oropher had been slain and his son bravely led his people afterwards. Sadly, less than one third returned to Greenwood.

Rûdhchamion had been very young at that time, still considered a child by his kindred. But he scouted with Brilgonion, his father, for the elven armies. His father had brought him along to teach him and hone his skills. He had been kept away from the battlefields then.

Still, this knowledge did not completely put him at ease. After all what could a dark elf that had belonged to a nomadic group offer the elvenking? They had been considered outcasts after the battles were no more, because they had refused to be ruled by any king. And technically, he had trespassed into Thranduil's kingdom for no reason… except his own personal one.

He glanced at the elven girl, Sauche. He felt her shift uneasily. Tinuiel was also looking at the elven girl.
