The Green Dragon - Part 2

When Nevlhachien was able to speak again, she decided she would tell her two companions what had happened that brought sadness upon her. She choked back more tears and spoke.

"Only a day after I had been back in Rivendell, I heard word that my brother was back. I found him in his room, lying upon his bed. He had been injured badly and could not be healed. I was told he didn't have much longer to live. He seemed so calm, like he wasn't going to die anytime soon."

"I kneeled down beside him and took his hand in mine. He spoke to me,'I have failed you sister. I now regret not letting you come. Will you remember me always?' And as he said those words I cried. Nothing could stop the tears. My brother gave me a beautiful necklace, a gold leaf from Lothlorien. He also gave me his sword and his horse. He gave me one last kiss on my cheek and he said,'Live hard my sister. Do everything I said we would do when I returned. And remember me.'"

"Then he died. And I layed there crying for many days. He was the only family I had left. And he died. Leaving me alone. Forever." And with that Nevlhachien began to cry again.
