But, if Smeagol had won out then the Ring would never have been destroyed. Gollum had to win out so he could bite the Ring from Frodo's hand. <P>But, then, seeing Frodo take the Precious to destroy it probably would have stirred Gollum enough to overpower Smeagol anyway. <P>I agree though; PJ and crew did an excellent job with the character!
