Thus Elrond and his children and Elros (until he chose the fate of Men) were clearly peredhil. Earendil seems to also fit within this category. Luthien apparently does not; she was an Elf granted the "gift" of the Fate of Man as a result of her love for Beren and their actions together. After her choice, she was of mankind. If Luthien was Mannish, then Dior also was. We do not learn the nature of Dior's wife (if I recall) so Elured and Elurin as well as Elwing were either "Men" (but Elwing was ultimately also granted the "choice" ![]() --Mithadan-- "The Silmarils with living light were kindled clear, and waxing bright shone like stars that in the North above the reek of earth leap forth." </p>
