"Gondor has no pants. Gondor needs no pants."<P>Oh, sorry, that crept over from the Pants Game thread.<P>I remember those from when I was a kid. I think it was Rankin-Bass (the same people who did 'The Hobbit,' which was decent) who did the ROTK - that must be where I'm getting my dim memory of an animated Gollum hissing "Dussssssst" and picking up a handful on the edge of Mt. Doom. Scared the *$(%& out of me. Still does. And I still get "Where There's a Whip, There's a Way" stuck in my head sometimes.<P>But I thought the Bakshi version was pretty awful. I can't deal with the Bambi eyes and the 70s hairdos, and...and Sam. Augh!<P>It has been a lot of years, though. I want to rent them and watch them again and have a good laugh now that I'm a grownup and my own mental images are more firmly-set, and the PJ version is at least a whole lot better to look at.
