Arwen instead of Glorfindel

LoTR has dozens of characters and there is absolutely no way to make the movie comprehensible to the non-book reader and keep them all in there. The movies would just become a bewildering string of names and places. <P>For each character that was not integral to the plot (a group to which Glorfindel certainly belongs) the film makers have to justify their inclusion. Sorry, but just because they were in the book is not good enough. Some of these guys had to go.<P>Even the animated LoTR recognized this and replaced Glorfindel with Legolas. PJ wanted to expand Arwen's role (with good reason) so putting her in place of Glorfindel is a natural decision.
