Someone spoiled Dernhelm's identity and Gandalf's death for me! Though,I was 14 when I first read it and I believe I would have figured it out anyway.

I will say it took a long time for me to trust Strider; maybe not as long as it took Sam...

And I was totally shocked that Frodo could not give up the ring. I thought "after all you went through to get it there!"
