The Saucepan Man has been trapped in the Barrow!
Silmaril In memory of the recently undeceased?

Just so I can get this straight, are we mourning those who have passed back into the world of the living here?

Hello Ithaeliel. Good to see you back.

I must say that this is a rather interesting thread to read (or should I say re-read), although many of those mourned were members long before I joined. I suppose there will always be a natural flow of members drifting in and out. There are many who have posted on this thread in the past who haven't been around for a while. Birdland and Maril spring to mind in particular.

Still, having mourned doug*platypus's absence about a year ago, I am pleased to see that he has returned and is now posting again.

Lindolirian has just left Hobbiton.
Some of my favorite quizzers were Elrian, Gilthalion, and Telchar, even though he was here in January. I haven't seen Bruce MacCulloch or Mat Heathertoes/Russandol for a while either. Zifnab was a good chap, too. We have some swell new quizzers though. I like 'em at least!

Birdland and Maril, both gone? It's a sad day! It's nice to see you, though, Saucepan Man. Salve, HerenIstarion! Vide te quoque laeta sum!

Hi, Ith.Bird and Maril are rather busy with real life but do stop by now and again. You asked about Amanaduial. You'll find that she is helping Piosenniel and Child run The Shire.

I'm still here! Thanks for the concern!

It's amazing to look back on my experiences here and realize that the forum, ephemeral as it might seem from a "real life" (whatever than means, as Mr. Nabokov used to say) perspective, has impacted my life in subtle and important ways. Some of the people who have made such a difference are still around. Others, it appear, are lost to me.

I miss them.

Me too. I still remember my duelling companions from the now musty and forgotten Dragons vs. Balrogs thread that have now gone *poof* one way or another (lmp is still around, of course). My first real knock down drag out...brings a tear to me eye it does...

Not only that, but it suddenly dawned on me not too long ago that somehow or other I seem to have become one of the old timers...

Oh guys, I'm really touched by the fact that not only did some of you notice that I haven't been around, but it would seem that a few actually missed me, too.

Well, even though I wanted a break, I can honestly say that I've missed you, so I do intend to be a bit more active in the future, whether you like it or not.

Silmaril Hi!

So I've come back after a long absence/lurk period (college makes one so busy!) and noted that Glirdy and Fea noted my absence back in August! Shame on me! *waves to everyone* I'm thinking maybe I'll pump some life into the CbC Sil discussion, since Aiwendil seems to be doing a lovely job of modding it but no one's posted in a few days. It'll get me reading the Sil again, at any rate.

Terribly flattered at those of you who claimed to miss me - thank you, high praise to know I've been missed And for once, that was a statement totally sans sarcasm. Just wondering through anyway, and thought I'd drop by my acknowledgement of the warm happy feeling you've bestowed upon me...

Seriously, all pompous language aside, that was really lovely to find. Thanks
