That would be the Ered Luin, the blue mountains. And the dwarven cities were Nogrod and Belegost. Why does this question seem familiar. What a minute. Now I remember. Bombadil, did you get this question from Dwarf Jeopardy?

It is called Cabed-en-Aras, but was changed to Cabed Naermarth ('Leap of Dreadful Doom') after Nienor jumped into it. It is a chasm in the Ravines of the Teiglin River.
