Hey dol! merry dol! ring a dong dillo!
Ring a dong! hop along! fal lal the willow!
Tom Bom, jolly Tom, Tom Bombadillo!

Greetings, my merry friends!

My mother introduced me to The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings books in 1973 when I was 11 years old, and I've been a great fan ever since.

Although I received a copy of the first printing of The Silmarillion for Christmas in 1977, I confess that it was many years later before I read it in its entirety. However, I've now read it through about seven times and enjoy it more with each successive reading.

I've very much enjoyed Peter Jackson's film adaptations. He's accomplished what was previously thought impossible, and nearly proved so by Ralph Bakshi in the late '70s, that is, successfully bringing Professor Tolkien's works to the big screen. While I can't say I'm enthralled with every departure from the books, I do feel that, by-and-large, the films are fantastic. I'm very much hoping that he's also able to bring The Hobbit to the big screen.
