Hmm, I think that I might have it.
"flees in the past" = ran (the past tense of runs)
"chats in second person" = u (chatspeak for "you") "irritating fly" = gad (a type of fly - a gadfly) The whole being Ranugad, the translation of Hamfast, a Hobbit.
