The connection I had in mind was also based on that assumption. An interesting question would be to assume Elendil and Numendil never met, I wonder if we could somehow link Orome and/or Galadriel in there....anyway, I'm rambling. You're up

Fatty Lumpkin-> Merry's ponies-> Nazgul's horses-> Fell beasts-> Gwaihir (and other eagles)-> Chief of the Wargs
Of course I'm only assuming that the different steeds of the Ringwraiths were connected, maybe being trained at the same time and place or something of the sort.
