Not sure whether this is what you're talking about... Earthsea at IMDb.

How could I?

I forgot to mention the Narnia movies I really like them and I hope the new version of the Lion, the witch and the wardrobe that is being filmed right now will live up to the old one that was made.

Plus of course the Harry Potter movies.

I also love Robin Hood and the men in tights. Its one of my favourites!

Was that Robin Hood, and the Mel Brooks version, or do you mean one movie? I like the 50's version with Errol Flynn and the 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves' version with Kevin Costner.

And Mel Brooks lost something after making 'History of the World' or I got too old.

I meant the one by Mel Brooks.

History of the World Part One is also a favourite of mine but its not fantasy.

Agreed. Just meant to say that Spaceballs and Men in Tights left me laughless.

Would also like to add the first 'Beastmaster' movie to the list.

Boots

Blade Runner -- a dark fantasy of the future. Incredible vision of multi-cultural street life and language, urban milieu, man's moral vision in a technological world.

Logan's Run -- a classic Speculative Fiction, which includes both fantasy and the old sci-fi

Silent Running -- another speculative classic. I love the card game with the robots and the line about not playing for three in one oil.

But I have a question: Is it possible for a movie to be based on a book which is clearly classified as fantasy and yet not be classed as a fantasy movie?

Of course, Doctor Who returns to the BBC at the end of March! *excited!* We are promised a new, darker style of Doctor, amazing special effects (no wonky sets), and the answer to how the daleks get up stairs! I just hope they have a regneration scene at the beginning to make it all 'proper'. I already have a cushion prepared to hide behind in case they have the cybermen.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail is easily the funniest movie ever.
Aside from that, I always like Dungeons and Dragons (even though the movie is a lot less interesting than the game) and Harry Potter. And of course the Princess Bride.

I don't know if this is counted as fantasy or not...but I loooved Timeline. Maybe it's more sci-fi, but I figure time travel is fantasy. And it was a really good movie.
