Thank you - I did affect my best "Noo yoik" accent as I read through the members list...
My clue ideas seem to fall in to two categories - the glaringly obvious and those that indicate my warped and tortuous thought processes.... Ave! You were not singing 'in excelsis'.

Either that, or it's Firefoot... But Alcarillo is my official guess.

It is neither and I can see little connection with your guesses ... but the Latin might be worth investigation
As might spanish...

I have decided that this is a hideous clue and to salve my conscience I will give you a couple of clues.
1, It refers to a downers personal title 2, if you translate Ave first from Latin then from Spanish you will have most of the context of the original source of the PT If that isn't enough I will give you a very google-able clue but see how you do with those.... |

It is a bird reference but a literary not a mythological one....

Is there any reason at all for Birdland to be running through my head so often right now?
PS: or Gwaihir the Windlord, though I doubt myself quite a lot on both.

OK... Remember it is a personla title.
"singing 'in excelsis'" gives a clue to which bird you are looking for. |

I have thought long and hard, and scoured the members list in all sorts of ways. But I must admit: I am...utterly at a loss.

I'm guessing Squatter only because I'm too stubborn to listen to you say "pay less attention to the Dwarven part".
