Just to get this one straight, cus I've worked my head of for quite some time now
 Were looking for a Man who was Ashamed of something. Who led someone under cover and who was alive around TA3019, but the battle in which he led someone under cover was before WoTR ... First I was thinking Bard and the Battle of the Five Armies, but could'nt find anything he was ashamed of. Then Boromir had a lot to feel ashamed about, but I can't recall that he ever retreated (except from Osgiliath with three other men...) Then I thought Faramir... Again no shame (I think) but he did leed his people to Henneth Anun Im spend - give us another hint Gil-Galad!

Could it be Aragorn's destruction of the Corsairs of Umbar under his disguise as Thorongil? Though I don't see the "Ashamed" part.

Wow, my random guess proved right. But could you explain the "Ashamed" part?
In what battle was Haldir slain?
