+ + Garm/Gram (whatever) So we can get to the Gang of Four. Although I may not be able to vote tomorrow. It's interesting how Goldberry has slipped under the radar so far. The smallest number of eviction votes for any candidate?

I prefer to call him Gram. Gram: 7 votes Goldberry: 1 vote And so, Farmer Giles' dog went the way of his master -- shot by the blunderbuss. Day the Thirty-Ninth finds 4 contestants remaining: This will be the last day to vote for who you want off. Tomorrow will be the final day, unless by some strange twist of fate there is a triple eviction today. The Final Four: Alf the Prentice, King of Faerie Goldberry Queen of Faerie Chrysophylax Dives

Let's bring the final round down to a Man, a Woman, and a Creature. And since we have two Faeries, it's only fair to vote off the Queen. Once again, I vote with Anguirel- probably for the last time this game. ++ The Queen of Faerie

It's called regicide when you kill a king, what's it called when you kill a queen...? Queen of Faerie: 6 votes Chrysophylax Dives: 4 votes Goldberry: 3 votes Alf the Prentice, King of Faerie: 2 votes And so, with cries of "Off with 'er 'ead!" they guillotined the Queen of Faerie. Day the Forty and Finaleth finds 3 remaining contestants. It will last 48 hours and end at Midnight CDT on Wednesday the 24th. (Okay, technically, only 47 hours since I'm putting this up an hour late. Whatever.) VOTE FOR WHO YOU WANT TO WIN If there is a tie, I will exact moderator privilege to break it and declare the winner. The Finalists Alf the Prentice, King of Faerie Goldberry Chrysophylax Dives

Celeborn is a mighty warrior and great wise strategist of high Telerin pedigree. Alf is more of a generically mysterious cook. If he's any Elf from the Lord of the Rings, it's Gildor Inglorion. At least Chyrsophylax puts up an interesting character, one that the reader can enjoy. Alf is pretty much boring- almost as boring as Goldberry.

++ CHRYSOPHYLAX DIVES Now that we're down to the FINALS, I'm changing up my strat, and voting for who I really want to win. He IS the most interesting of the three, and he's smart enough to know that he can outlast ol' Giles and go back to his hills and get his treasure back, ... not to mention give a certain stewpid Giant a tongue lashing, tail lashing, and general whoop-on. So thanks, everybody, so far, for playing into my ultimate plan. And you all thought I wanted Smith to win..... |

I've given this some thought. Both of the candidates (Smith and the Queen of Faerie) I would have wanted to take the title are gone. I'm left with the following choice: Goldberry: Just doesn't strike me as a winner for the competition. Marrying Tom after he kidnapped her and all that. Alf: I know you want me to vote for him, Ang. But I thought it over, and I just don't see him as a Celeborn model. And he still has the same name as the furry alien that I can't stand the sight of. Sorry, but I can't vote for him. Chrysophylax: Not my favorite dragon, as I said a couple of times before. But at least he's more interesting than Goldberry and isn't a synonym for an obnoxious extraterrestrial. Kuru also makes him interesting. So, though it's with a heavy heart that mourns the loss of the Queen and Smith, I vote for: ++ Chrysophylax Dives

++Chrysophylax Dives [accent=Napoleon Dynamite] Cause Dragons are flippin' sweet! Gosh! [/accent] Okay, reasons Chrysophylax should win: 1. He's got the coolest name of almost anybody in all of Tolkien's works. 2. He is, as Kuru points out, the only dragon to survive one of Tolkien's stories. 3. The only people who can defeat Dragons are Mighty Warrior Men named Turin and a Handsome Bowman named Bard who has a cool Black Arrow. Clearly Alf and Goldberry would be murderlated by Chrysophylax. 4. Dragons are flippin' sweet! Join the Bandwagon of Victory! Vote Chrysophylax Dives!

While the worm should win, and it seems will, considerable consideration should be given for Goldberry for not only tolerating would would seem to have been a "shotgun marriage" by TB, but also for the forebearance for not dispatching him after the 10,000th rhyming answer response to comments such as "dinner's ready", will you PLEASE wipe your feet before coming in the house", "why do you always leave the seat up!", etc. + + Goldberry
