Sam is my favorite character in LotR. Brave, loyal, with a nice sense of humor, and he's just so... hobbity. And how can you not love a gardener who recites poetry? [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img] I think Sean Astin was the perfect choice for Sam. I saw the first movie before I read any of the books, and Astin just made me fall in love with the character. He's got that humble, hobbity (I need a new adjective for what I need to say in place of "hobbity" [img]smilies/tongue.gif[/img] ) image down-pat. He can go from wide-eyed gardener to loyal fighter perfectly, and yet he still retains that... hobbit-ness. [img]smilies/tongue.gif[/img] [ June 24, 2003: Message edited by: Estella Brandybuck ]
