yes it was made by elves, but never an elven heirloom. It was given to men and became an heirloom in their house.
I am quite sure that the definition "heirloom of men" fits the Ring of Barahir.

Very good point, Tarpaladin, I thought the same way until recently when I discovered otherwise on another forum
 Anyways, Thinlomien now has the thread -the answer I sought was indeed Brandir. Sorry for the delay! I went home for the weekend and didn't have any internet access.

this is just off the top of my head, but was it Celegorm? Either him or the twins, methinks. It's been several years since I last read the Sil, so my memory's hazy at best when I don't take the time to look something up.
