First submission of the Round - From 'Live'
...with great liberties taken. I have found it necessary to alter their average verse with a more poetic rendering for the purposes of my elegy. I hope it sounds as good as it reads to me.
Shore at Grey Havens (sharked from 'Dam at otter creek' by "Live") Sam, returning with Merry and Pippin When nought is left to do but think of all we've known here is where loss breathes the sorrow of returning home So we came to the Havens at the rim of the Gulf of Lune where the shore was kissed by water deep enough to sail a ship Two Bagginses we brought there flanked by loyalty and love deep enough to sail a ship deep enough to sail a ship They're with us no more We took them there we three on horseback among the trees for we've passed through a war leaving the dead behind leaving the Ring's curse behind May they find rest upon the farther shore We will miss them always always looking over the sea. |
