But I have no idea where it comes from.

Knowing that of the HoMe Volumes I have only read the Lay of Leithian , the Epilogue to LotR and the Athrabeth Finrod a Andreth, it's not so difficult!

it's Andreth about Aegnor, when Finrod takes his leave.

For some reason I find this story of unfulfilled love particularly touching and heartrending. So little is told, yet "it is the untold stories that are most moving." as Tolkien wrote in one of his letters.

Anyhow, it is your turn again, Macalaure!
