Hi to all. Just joined this week and am enjoying the atmosphere greatly. I discovered JRRT right out of college in 1971 when I wanted to read anything but the dry text material I had isolated myself with for the last four years. LOTR is my favorite book. Love the films also - hope that does not anger anyone. I see books and films as two very different things and a film as a slightly different way of telling the same story in a different voice. Saw the musical in Toronto and thought it was pretty bad. Looking forward to HURIN and look forward to the discussion here.

Welcome Sauron the White. Oh, and don't worry, I am sure there are many people who like the films...
Not me, though. So stay away from me with the films!  Nah, just joking. I actually think more like you do, only preferring the books a little bit more. But especially the Fellowship is quite fine to watch. So don't worry and hope you enjoy your stay here
