Rather than "writer's block" I'd like to postulate the "student's block" for a luxury, all expenses paid trip to the cozy fires of Mt. Doom.

Yes, the student's block... a term I just coined (though I'm sure it has been said before) for that moment where you feel that if you read just ONE more word about (insert topic of study here) your brain will turn into mush and drip out of your ears.

Those days where it's not quite raining but it is raining enough that every time you go outside you end up damp and cold because you haven't realised it's quite wet enough for an umbrella. This is especially irritating when you come down from the north to the supposedly sunny south and it springs grey clouds and weather like this on you.

End of Daylight Savings. When I get home from work, there's less than an hour of daylight left! No good and makes me very cranky when I have to cut my horse training session short.

Net-Servers that crash twice in a week, stopping everything dead. Also, I assign trying to stay busy while the server gets fixed so that when it comes back up everything for the rest of the day is breakneck urgent.

Pulling an all-nighter to write a script that's supposedly due, only to find out that very class has been cancelled.

Aargh! Why couldn't I find this out before I sacrificed my sleep?!

Getting sick during the most critical week of the semester. Having to write a 15 page epic and a 4 page explanation of it by tomorrow morning. It's no fun pulling all-nighters when you're all sniffly and coughing.

Discovering just how slow your internet is at home compared to what you had at uni. I'm back to it taking a full minute for a page on the 'Downs to load. That's going to make werewolf interesting.
