Well, is it Calembel?

"Visit the chief town of Lamedon... close by the famous green fields of Lebennin... watch the sun set blood-red behind the Pinnath Gelin..." Something like that?

No, it is not Calembel... there is one location that really, ultimately beats the others in the eyes of an early-3rd-age Middle-Earthian...

You only have to figure out why it is (and of course which one it is)

And it is more than just blood-red sunset and beautiful fields with streams...

In that case is it Umbar? It had that monument to the defeat of Sauron.

It would have to be in the late first millenium, though.

I couldn't have written, of course, "since year XY" because then it would've been obvious. Nevertheless, as long as Umbar was free, it was in my opinion obviously a destination every citizen of Arnor and Gondor must have dreamt of visiting.
