				  | Any other volcanos?

I just read through some postings and now I wonder if Mount Doom was the only volcano in whole Middle-Earth? Does anyone know?

i would have said yes. i have never seen or heard about other volcanoes, unless they are outside the given map, like in wastelands or something.

Meneltarma apperently was one, for at the downfall of Nśmenor, fire spew forth from it. Whether the 'gaping chasm' into which Maedhros threw himself was just a crack in the earth or could have been a volcano can't be said for certain I think.

You are forgetting The Lonely Mountain, it was an extinct volcano.

Was Dol Guldur a volcano (perhaps extinct) or is that just something I remember from a MERP scenario?

Actually, there's a discussion about that over in the Books forum, under the Silmaril/Arkenstone topic.

Yeah, I am involved in that discussion. In that thread I argued (perhaps incorrectly) that Lonely Mountain is not an extinct volcano. I thought maybe someone had concrete proof that it is.
