When they started talking about writing more exquisitely than Tolkien, the only scene I could think of where this possibly applied is the one they brought up, with "I cannot / shall not pass". I could not think of any other line I would rather hear in movie script form than in book form.


But that aside, I feel like Merry and Pippin kinda took their characters to real life. It was fun to watch.
