Is it sooth then that Tom visited the Maggot farmhouse? I'd assumed that Tom always stayed within the boundaries of his own land, and somehow can't picture a Hobbit farmhouse within Bombadil territory. It could be there's something I'm missing here, haven't taken into account, or am applying too stringently. * strokes his beard thoughtfully at the puzzle *
