Hiya all i am new here
hello my name is Brenda and i am new here
 i am from holland and am a huge lotr fan and love Hobbits  i love to do rpg but i am not sure yet about how to do that here on this forum i hope i wil understand it soon my hobbys are horseriding reading fantasy books unicorns the most writing about hobbits and drawing horses i hope to be welcome here on this crowed forum but i think it wil be ok bye greets Diamond

Haha, it doesn't matter to me.
Though when I think about it, "Casbah" sounds a bit better than just plain "Rockin". But hey, whatever floats your oyster, right?

Hello everyone!
I am not exactly a new member, but rather an old member long gone and now returned. I was formerly known as Cúdae, but left roughly 3 years ago. I tried to retrieve my old password to get that name back, but as my e-mail address has since changed, it didn't work out. (So if the administrators wish to do any late fall/early winter cleaning, go right ahead and clear that account out! )Anyway, I notice that many, many things have changed in the years I've been gone! I'm not sure I understand this reputation system, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it after I wade through that long thread on it! I also do not recognize many names. Perhaps there have been many new members or perhaps my memory lapses. Hmm... In any case, it is good to be back! Call me Boo. I'm from Akron, Ohio (if you can believe that). Been a fan of Tolkien for about... 35-36 years, so you know I'm WAY old. Looks like a nice place to enter discussions of Middle Earth and such. The thing that really blew me away about the Silmarillion is that in it, the universe is created through music. What a concept! If I'm not here, I can usually be found over at the Battlefront.com forums. |

Good evening. I am a long-time fan of the series, but this is my first time in the forums. I stumbled upon it by chance, actually.
I have read The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, The Tolkien Reader, Farmer Giles of Ham, and Smith of Wootton Major. I am still trying to work my way through The Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales. I've been stuck in The History ofGaladriel and Celeborn for months now... As you proably have guessed, I am more of a fan of the books then of the movies. I was quite upset when I saw that The Voice of Saruman was taken out of the films, and when it was in the Extended DVD, I was happy, but then downcast when they killed off Saruman so soon. I really enjoyed his last ditch efforts in that chapter in the book... And now I go to bed, seeing as how it is *very* late. Good night! |

I'm new to the forums here. I've been a Tolkien fan since 1994, when some friends and I got together to make a multiple-user online game set in Middle Earth. I began researching the works so we could make a more authentic recreation, down to the geography, and I fell in love with Middle-Earth. Welcome lordaule! I must say what you presented about yourself quite reminds me of my story when coming here. My original coming here was mainly due to the fact I wanted to verify or research more information in order to make a Middle-Earth roleplaying setting I did more authentic. And look - I have discovered far more in this place. I hope you'll do too!

Fantastic! Finaly another downer from Denmark, well sort of.
I know that Yiriandur is really from the Netherlands, but I must take what I can get. . . I my self was considering studying in Århus, but decided it was too long a distance from home and besides I am not really fond of the city. The last time I was there, the whole place was stinking. . .I belive it was because of the Ceres Breweries. anyways welcome Yiriandur, I hope you will enjoy it here. . . I tried to hang out in the chat but never got the hang of it, hopefully you will have greater succes here.

Hi, I'm the newest thing, but not the youngest.
I loves me some Tolkien, but apparently don't hold him as the unassailable Valar most of you seem to. Maybe I get that from his overly self-critical attitude that comes across in the HoMe. If he didn't think he was the Greatest Writer in the World, I certainly can't. That said, what's with all the millions of pages of LotR slashfic online? OMGWTF (as the kiddies say)? Somebody throw some Silmarillions at those kids and quiet them down. Sheesh! Also, pretty neat that I see an attempt to rebuild the Silmarillion itself. It's about time, and I'm not sure that we can count upon Adam Tolkien or other family members to take up the flag so recently laid down by CT. What I'd like to see, however, is someone with the courage and ingenuity to write new Quenta outside of the First-through-Third Ages. I'm bored with amateur rehashes of stories JRRT himself rewrote ad nauseum. Let's see the Silmarils found and the Last Battle fought (and see the True West finally sundered from this world forever)! |

Hi. My name is Finarfin. I chose Finarfin because he was the only Noldorin leader the didn't leave Valinor. Anyhow, I joined this forum because I'm a Tolkien freak. My favorite book of his works is the Silmarillion. I hope I can learn a lot of what I don't know.
