Actually, the crossing opposing characters wouldn't be a disaster. They'd be so busy fighting themselves that they wouldn't be able to bother anyone else.

Imagine: Feanor is so busy trying to get revenge on his Morgoth half that the Kinslaying never happened.

Another cross'bread' that I think might be funny:

Tulkas and Morgoth. That could get interesting...
