Gollum vs Sam and Frodo
Why do i have the feeling after 500 years of being a hard *** little Monster that Gollum would of kicked the crap out of Sam and Frodo in the part where he jumps them in their sleep.Frodo and Sam both are novice fighters at best and are weak and cold and Gollum had the jump on them, i just dont see how that could of ended as it did with neither Hobbit with really so much as a scratch. Sorry all you Frodo fans but in the film anyway he is a complete wuss and Gollum from the Hobbit anyway was able to take down lost Orcs for a snack.

I do not agree. You must remember that Gollum could take down goblins when he had the ring. He meets Sam and Frodo afrter nearly 80 years of being parted from it. (I hope my chronology is right - Bilbo had it for 60 years, and Frodo for 18.) This would have made him very weak. I mean think about it, his entire life-force was in the ring, and without it he was a 580+ year old Hobbit. Who would win in a fight, two relatively middle-aged Hobbitsd, or one ancient one?
Welcome to the 'Downs!

Ya i can see that for sure but still would of thought he had more fight in him then that, after all Gollum was traveling alone while following the Fellowship and must of had to defend himself against tougher foe then a pair of hobbits since escaping Mordor.

I agree with Deathwail. In the books, Gollum was very cunning and in the movie he still is. I think his weakness is his fear of Sting (and possibly other blades.)

I think you've got at least one good point there. They do seem to get away without a scratch, even though Sam gets a pretty nassty bite on the neck from Gollum. That was some frenzy. Hope we see more of that. What was with his 'off the ropes' move, though? Maybe he's a secret character in the PS2 game, or something. Looked a bit cheesy to me.
