Somehow, I still could not place a hobbit and a man on par with each other...

Of course it may sound wierd, but what I am imagining a community of hobbits dwelling happily at one corner with absolutely no doings with any other races while two entire ages pass...

Hey, those are not hairs on their feet; they are parasite weeds.
