Scramble along the Ered Tatagoras from Drenville towards Tol Mindh for 110 miles.

Where are you?

And what a scramble that is! Ok, if you stroll from Rivendell along the Great East Road towards Mithlond for 110 miles you should get somewhere near the Last Bridge.
Oh, wish I was already there! Long road ahead...(see my From:!)

Ok, here's the next riddle:

A place of sight

guess which one am I

Elven roots
eye of men
a path to past
now blind again.

Can you tell my brains are still on vacation?

A place of sight
a few there were like- Resting place of a Palantir?
guess which one am I

Elven roots -One built by Gil-Galad?
eye of men -And used by Elendil?
a path to past -A palantir that looked over the sea?
now blind again. -but has now been taken there?

My guess is Elostirion, the tallest of the Towers of Emyn Beriad.

ok... here goes:

Tall I was once,
and home of The Tall
Small I am now,
No longer a home of battles
Only birds live here now
And the sad sigh of waters

yuck, no rhyme at all, I'm terrible at making these up.

It could be Himring, the hill where Maedhros' fortress stood (which obviously was tall, and Tall is also Maedhros' nickname). After the drowning of Beleriand it became considerably smaller in stature and was renamed Himling (an island where the "sigh of waters" is always present).

OK, I'll go for Meneltarma which, being the Pillar of the Heavens and the tallest Mountain of Numenor (island of the tall Men), was certainly once tall. Following the Downfall, it too became considerably shorter.

Himring/Himling it was! Maedhros the Tall was supposed to be the clue (and battles, I don't recall much battling on the Meneltarma), although, Saucepan Man, as always, your solution works nicely. Carry on Annunfuiniel

Hmm, I don't seem to rhyme today so this next task will come out in prose for a change:
give the route through which the sweet galenas came to the Shire.

Quote:
it was, I suspect, originally brought over Sea by the men of Westernesse. It grows abundantly in Gondor, and there is richer and larger than in the North, where it is never found wild, and flourishes only in warm sheltered places like Longbottom. The men of Gondor call it sweet galenas and esteem it only for the fragrance of its flowers. From that land it must have been carried up the Greenway during the long centuries between the coming of Elendil and our own days. But even the Dunedain of Gondor allow us this credit: Hobbits first put it into pipes. Not even the Wizards first thought of that before we did. Though one Wizard that I knew took up the art long ago, and became as skilful in it as in all other things that he put his mind to. (Prologue to LOTR)
Found it!

Alright, lets try again. This one much more thoroughly considered. The Gap of Maglor: it's a wide gap between Big and Little Gelion, defense of it keeps the free lands free, and the defenders are splendid and proud, being the Sons of Feanor.
