Hmm.... I don't know if we have a character list anywhere. There are lists like here on RotK's IMDb site (I know you said you don't want the actors' names, but it gives the character names as well). There's also a less extensive but more descriptive list here.

Characters
The 9 of the Fellowship - Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin, Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, and Boromir

Of the Race of the Elves - Elrond, Galadriel, Arwen

Of the Race of Men - Theoden, Eowyn, Eomer, Denethor, and Faramir

Others - Gollum, Shelob, Sauron, Saruman

Those are some of the more important characters. If you need more info just ask and I am sure there will be other who can help more than I can.

Hey...

I used to be registered here but after two years of exams i lost track and didn't have time any more to post threads. So i have registered again as ; The Almighty fish which may sound weird but seeing as all other evil names were taken i decided to choose one that i have used in my short random stories i write. I am a huge LotR fanatic, have all the books and Extended editions films. I read the books every year which i find in my busy schedule to do. I am currently reading the Silmirillion and a few Stephen King novels. I like music a lot but none of this dance or trance rubbish but heavy Metal and rock like : Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Rage against the machine, soundgarden and so on. I love doing quizzes on Lotr so any questions on the books or films will be welcome.

Welcome Capatin Grishnakh to our lovely site. You'll eventually learn how everything works and as for what we call the Avatar (the pic under your screename) you have to have first a saved picture that you want to put into it. Then, go into your User Cp and press Edit Avatar. Once there, click browse, find the place you saved your picture to, open it and press Save changes. I don't know if there is another way that you could do this and if there is you'd have to ask one of the other Downer's. Have fun!!!

Ello!

I'm Koneko, an Essexian from the Desert of No Writing Circles (as I currently call my hometown.) Can't say I'm a complete LoTR fanatic, since the first decent fantasy book I picked up (at the age of twelve, adult fantasy

) was Anne McCaffrey. As a result I refuse to write a dragon as a main character, since I will never write them to my satisfaction.

I hate the Harry Potter books. I though I might get that out of the way first. They are walking cliches - and if that offends anyone, I apologise. However, I like the fanfiction, and the films are alright.

I call myself a "werd". That's a writing nerd. =^_^= Kinda fitting, since I've started to write my story in my college notebook. I've got pages marked "S" littered through it... werdish.

And I'm reading "Unfinished Tales" at the minute. o.O . Turin is such a poor tortured person... but I still want to know how Glorfindel got from probably-dead-Balrog-slayer-in-Gondolin to elf-at-Rivendell. :|

Do I need anymore here? *worry*

Hello! Wow! I haven't been to The Barrow-Downs since, hmmm....January 2002 or thereabouts. It's been a long, long time. Man, I really missed hanging around with my fellow Lord of the Rings nerd pals. I actually here due to this class I'm taking Eng 160: Extreme Fictions, in which we are reading Harry Potter fan fiction. I remembered when I used to write LotR fan fiction, and it made me REALLY want to read some good ol' LotR fanfic. It's good to see that The Barrow Downs has maintained its caliber of quality. I've never submitted anything here, but I may...someday. Anyway, it's nice to be back.

When ever a game ends you can join the next one by stating it on the Tol-in-Gaurhoth thread, but you can't post until the current game is over. . .

I would recomend a Junior game first. There is no game right now so you can just post that you would like to join the next game, this you do in the Tol-in-Gaurhoth Junior thread. (I belive ther are 3 persons on the list for the next game)
