So ... Morsul is the next password setter, according to the rules.

Are you sure I contributed nothing. I'd be fine passing. If you insist I'm sure I can come up with something.

It's Nerwen's decision, I guess, but you did name the correct password.

1. A cheesey town
2.Ancient, volition and loud exclamation, this hombre sings. 3. Larvae to some, yet fond of Fungus and dogs 4. Saloon, a shortened arm, and master, yet forgetful. 5. Sounds presumptuous, or something like it, for this scruff man to ask reward. 6. Father with double walkers. Gossiped with pork product. 7. Absurdly simple, these cause long delays. 8. A underhanded throw to a long fish would be more appealing than she is. 1. Bree 2. Old Man Willow 3. Maggot 4. Barliman 5. Aragorn 6. Daddy Twofoot 7. Inns 8. Lobelia Might be obnoxiously easy or incredibly difficult we'll see...

Saw Bree, but Mith already has it!
Although short-cuts make long delays, it's RIDDLES that Gandalf calls absurdly simple, and they cause delays more than once? 8. A guess at LOBELIA, because 'lob' is throw and there is the sound of 'eel,' but the whole answer is more 'long' than that? Kind of messes up my idea of Bamfurlong for the password, though.

4. BARLIMAN is forgetful, and master to Nob and Bob: saloon = bar, lim = shortened limb/arm ... but I can't account for the AN.

Is 7 short cuts, then, because short cuts are supposed to be a simpler way of getting somewhere? (And Frodo and company's short-cut is absurd/disastrous).
Or because it's a simple/straight clue, whereas most clues here are cryptic?

5. Again, I can't account for every letter, but ARAGORN is a scruff as Strider, a man, and his name sounds like arrogant (presumptuous).

6. Daddy Twofoot, who gossiped with Hamfast, the Gaffer?
So ... BOMBADIL? Edit: I remember now that Hamfast is sometimes abbreviated to Ham, (as Samwise is to Sam), so 'fast' doesn't need to be accounted for.

Ah, so if that's the theme, maybe it's Old Man Willow? I had old and will, but was looking for a one word name.
Great theme. I found the early part of the book too slow the first time round, but I love it now. Because Frodo hasn't yet lost the Shire at this point. Ah ... OW for the loud exclamation, I think Willow Man sings to send his victims to sleep, and MAN is homme/hombre?

That was a great password. I didn't see Bombadil at all until I realised 4 must be Daddy Twofoot.
I have some passwords ready, but they're on my laptop, not my phone, so just a few minutes and I'll post one.

Here you go ...
1. Citrus confused, if Shakespeare .... Citrus confused, exchanges Westron exclamation for elvish one, in reflection. But both roads lead to her!
2. Old dwarf - that is, confused. But leads to a bright girl! 3. Post confused regarding her. 4. He stands clear, when Brooklyn prostitute loses direction in her confusion. 5. Flora Thompson’s glides still, though it meanders, loses direction and even meets a motorway! All within the place of the real hemlock glade - but lose a sibilant to reveal him. EDIT: Last clue edited, to match the CORRECT spelling that I hadn't provided.

Brooklyn prostitute... words I've never thought I'd see on the Downs.
But somehow I'm thinking Vivian Ward from Pretty Woman. But not sure where to go from there

The prostitute character is from a film, but not Pretty Woman. A much darker film, with Brooklyn in the title. I've only seen bits of it. As Sam would say, 'It gave me the shivers.'
EDIT: Morsul, do you think the solved Bombadil password could have the clues put back, so we can see what the answers referred to?

Flora Thompson’s glides still, though it meanders within the place of the real hemlock glade. Lose a sibilant to reveal him. Correct - Tralala gets confused, and also loses one of her L's (L = left, a direction). Apparently 'Last Exit To Brooklyn' was a novel first. Thanks for putting the clues back!

Morsul, that was a great password! I'm sorry I missed the whole thing. And I know themed aren't necessary, but I like themed passwords better, it's like an extra clue that you work in.
3. Is there a character called Ilma? That's the only good sounding name I can get from scrambling mail around. Thought I'd check before I search for other synonyms.

Flora Thompson’s glides still, though it meanders within the place of the real hemlock glade. Lose a sibilant to reveal him. Arien is correct, and for the reasons you state. Nar is specifically referred to as an old dwarf. Right synonym and right unscrambling. There is a character whose name *begins* with ILMA. If you look carefully, though, there's a little bit more to add, AFTER the scrambled bit.

Ilmare
Mail scrambled RE regarding a common Mail description That would make 1. 2.A 3.I 4.A 5. Since they're all in some way related I'm going with MAIAR only Tolkien word I can think of with that pattern.

MELIAN: Citrus confused, if Shakespeare .... Citrus confused, exchanges Westron exclamation for elvish one, in reflection. But both roads lead to her!
ARIEN: Old dwarf - that is, confused. But leads to a bright girl! ILMARE: Post confused regarding her. ALATAR: He stands clear, when Brooklyn prostitute loses direction in her confusion. R: Flora Thompson’s glides still, though it meanders within the place of the real hemlock glade. Lose a sibilant to reveal him. Yes, this password has a theme, and the answer is MAIAR. Re = short for regarding: hence ILMARE. Slight mis-spelling of MELIAN You got the two correct citrus fruits, and the correct end result, but it was two separate clues leading to the same answer. 1. LIME confused = MELI, plus AN, a word Shakespeare often used to mean 'if.' Example: 'Get up, get up, an you be a man!' (The Nurse in 'Romeo and Juliet'). 2. LEMON confused gives MELON. Exchange the Westron exclamation O for the elvish one, AI (as in 'Ai! Ai! A Balrog!'), but reflect it (put it in backwards). Hence: MELIAN. EDIT: Aragorn asked for a reward - to become Frodo's companion! Of course. (Referring to one of Morsul's 'Bombadil' clues).

Indeed asking for a reward was the straight clue.
Flora wrote a book of poetry "Still Glides the Stream" so I'll be working from there...

Correct starting point. (It's prose, though. I've read it).

Okay, it gives Rómestámo as an alternative name for Pallando, and I can see how that could work with the clues: stream + Roos, which is apparently the site of the "original" hemlock glade.
You really had me wondering if Durin's Bane was secretly known as Ralph (or something).

ARIEN: Old dwarf - that is, confused. But leads to a bright girl! ILMARE: Post confused regarding her. ALATAR: He stands clear, when Brooklyn prostitute loses direction in her confusion. ROMESTAMO: Flora Thompson’s glides still, though it meanders, loses direction and even meets a motorway! All within the place of the real hemlock glade - but lose a sibilant to reveal him. Correct! 'Roos' on the outside (where Edith sang and danced for Ronald), lose the sibilant (s), and 'stream' 'meanders' within it. Well done all, and over to Morsul again! EDIT: Romestamo clue edited, to match the CORRECT spelling that I hadn't provided.
