Deine Schuld, richtig. I actually don't agree with the politics put forward in the song; but it's still an amazing tune. And those two lines in my signature I find to be truly inspiring.

A hint... if you've ever seen a World War II/holocaust movie, imagine the siren noise made by the Nazi police's vehicles. That's a European siren you're hearing, not a Nazi-specific one.

(When I first heard modern German sirens in Europe over the summer, my first though was "hey... I know that sound..." I was quite pleased with myself for making the connection 1940s siren = 2000s siren in Europe.)

P.S. To the Europeans: sorry to equate your sirens with Nazi sirens... but they're really the easiest way to demonstrate them to North Americans. Our siren is more of a "whoooo.... whooo..."- except really high pitched.

The sirens on London police cars seem in the last few years, to have abandoned the "me ma" and started imitating American ones - the high-pitched whoo of which Form speaks.

No offence to the Yanks, but I really don't like it. Maybe it's an association with American cop shows, but it makes me think my city is more lawless than it really is.

I don't know where you've heard those nazi-sirens but I don't think that any middle-european country still has sirens that are more than 60 years old. We are not that far behind the US as many of its citizens think, actually.

They have been trialing a different siren noise since the traditional one makes it hard to place exactly where the sound is coming from. Aparently a high pitched wail interspersed with blips is easier to trace and allows other drivers to take evasive action.

Sorry for being off topic.

I don't mean Europe uses genuine Nazi sirens... I mean that a modern European siren of the sort being described in Kath's signature sounds essentially the same as a European siren of 60 years ago- whereas a North American one sounds completely different.

I was using it as an example so that the more ignorant (ie. non-European) 'Downers could get a mental sound image.
