Someone must want our attention!

For the second week in a row, Michael Martinez has centered his column around a prominent feature of the Barrow-Downs.

It would be nice if he at least would do the kindness of linking folk to the things he critiques!

You can find his latest critical essay here:
http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/tolkien/63343A funny thing happened on the way to the canon
Summation, in case you don't feel like the effort: "Don't try."

This is where the work is getting done:

Personally, I think the guy has some interesting observations in his articles, but he must be hard up for materials! These are works in progress, after all.

This was his article last week that criticized efforts like mine, kindly hosted here at the Barrow-Downs:

You can read the sequel in progress here:

Someone once said that those who can, do. Those who can't, teach. Those who can't teach, become critics...

But if you, yourself, ever come under the eye of a critic one day, be sure to read carefully, because you may learn something that will be helpful in making your work better.

(I actually typed that with a straight face. )
