Every time Valier changes her avvie, I have to get used to NOT welcoming this new person into the forums.... That dancing Kitten has become so associated with the idea of "Valier" that I fully expect her to BE a dancing kitten.

Although the Panda is still cool.... and he pulls a Legolas!! I'm not sure if it's phisically possible to move like the panda does... just like our movie-elven friend!!!

There seems to be something like "change your Avvie" -week going on... I also noticed Kitanna making a change (that new one is just weird!).

Mine is a picture of young Dimitri Sostakovits (Schostakovich). One of my favourite composers - listen to his piano or cello concertoes f.ex. Just awesome!

But surely, it's funny how those Avvies stick in to the persons. I just can't imagine Firefoot or Valier this new way... until some time goes on. As it was hard to think about Lommy without the penquins.

Why thank you! I am determined that the image people get stuck with of me is improbably beautiful. Plus LMP thought the last one (the spring sprite from Fantasia 2000) was a hippo (?).

He thought it was a what? A hippo?! Remarkable. I loved your last avvie, but that's because that was my favorite piece in the Fantasia 2000. She was very beautiful.

It's on their "Songs to Burn Your Bridges By" album cover. And the cannon and the knife are featured in one of my favorite music videos: "The Spyhunter." As for using this pic as my avatar? I dunno, thought it looked cool.

Estelyn and I are both intrigued by Kuruharan's new avatar . Might it be a P. G. Wodehouse cartoon? It's a bit like the David Hitch ones for Plummy's books. It also reminds me of cartoons in the sixties in a 60's gentlemen's how to book.

It is indeed Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot, Esq., my favorite Batman villain. (When is he finally going to get his own series, as he so richly deserves?!!! )

This particular avatar is taken from The New Batman Adventures when the Penguin finally recovered from that toxic river he'd been living in since that appalling Danny DeVito catastrophe and went back to a more classic look and portrayal (i.e. he stopped being a mutant).

Oh, nice one! Woeful Batman fan that I am I haven't kept up with the comix, although I am a Batman fan. But no wonder I felt a resonance with David Hitch and his posh characters:

Ah well, this particular picture came from an animated series that ran (I believe) from 1997-1999. It was sort of the successor to the Batman: The Animated Series (which is one of my favorite shows...yes, I'm a nerd).

I actually didn't like The New Batman Adventures very much. I didn't care for the whole grown up Robin coming back as Nightwing thing and it kind of gets to the point where there are so many heroes in the story that it becomes hard to believe that any of the super-criminals could possibly stay in business.

However, I did like the way they portrayed the Penguin in that show in removing the physically mutated elements and turning him into more of a sophisticated, yet shady, entrepreneur with his nightclub. Well, maybe "restoring" the sophisticated personality might be a better word, although the nightclub was new.

Anyway, I must stop now because I could go on and on (in case you couldn't tell )

Thanks. If anyone doesn't know what Estel means by rocks, then you've never played with Kirby in Super Smash Bros. Although he's not my personal favorite to fight with(Young Link), or even the one I'm best with (Pikachu), he's probably the most fun to use.

Although, it took me awhile to get it to 'avatar form'. The actual background for the picture I used was white, and, since I lack a good photo editing program, I had to use Paint to change the background.

(Controversial question, how is Yoshi pronounced? I believe it to be 'Yosh-e' but some will say 'Yo-she'. When listening to Yoshi's voice it sounds like 'yosh-ee' but on Super Smash Brothers the announcer pronounces it 'yo-she' Is Nintendo giving mixed messages or what? )
