Del Rey cover of Book of Lost Tales 2

So I have this book of lost tales 2 del rey paperback and on the cover is a man in a red onepiece and an animal fur around his shoulders. A dwarf is pointing across a deep gully to an opening in a cliff where another dwarf stands looking out. A fallen tree bridges the gully and they look as though they are headed to the other side.

Does anyone know what story this picture is from?

Is it Turin being led to Mim's hide out?

If so I don't remember it happening like that? No tree bridge or more than one dwarf outside of the cave. Is Mim even in this version?

Anyway what story is it from and who is the artist. Thanks guys for any help you can with this.

Firstly, for all, here is the said cover - http://www.amazon.de/gp/reader/03453...=1#reader-page

Secondly, I have no idea who drew that picture, the only idea I have is to perhaps PM Parmastahir, he has a very large collection of Tolkien calendars, so it may well be that this picture is also to be found in one of his 1992 calendars.
