Again, I don't know if this is the right place to post this or not.

I emailed my theater director about the possiblity of doing this play. This is part of what he wrote back to me.

Hmmm... I'd say, write it just for fun if you've the mind to do so. Then, look up the Tolkien estate in a search engine or try to find some better contacts to them and ask their permission to publish. Then, maybe, you could submit the play to a publisher and get it out in real print. It would be a long process, fraught with peril, but it's all I know about these sorts of things. Good luck, though!

Thank you. I think that I will just write it, just for the sake of writing it for now. I'll see where it goes later.

Yes, just write until you get a piece elaborate enough to be reviewed by other people. Then you'll truly know whether you should go farther.
