Question Why doesn't Gondor get a Ring of Power?

Why wasn't the king of Gondor given a magic ring? Surely Sauron would have wanted Gondor under his power...hmm

He may have done that, but all of the men who were given the rings became wraiths.

Gondor didn't exist at the time that the Rings were forged.
[ January 01, 2003: Message edited by: Kuruharan ]

The Kings of Gondor were of Númenorean descent, weren't they? Well, they might have known better than to take one of the Rings from Sauron, or maybe he just didn't want to risk it. But then, we look at Isildur and see him taking the One Ring, and my theory becomes doubtful at best. Nice move, Isildur.
~*~Orual~*~
Edit: Oh! LoL, well, there you have it. My theory isn't only doubtful, it's obsolete! LoL! Thanks for the info, Kuruharan. I didn't know that.
[ January 01, 2003: Message edited by: Orual ]

My guess is that Saruman didn't give Gondor
a Ring for the same reason he didn't give
Rivendell a Ring, because it was the two kingdoms
that made him fell, may be he saw it in the
Palantir or in the Mirror of Galadriel, she
had a Ring, so she were under his power, but
my guess he didn't predict that he would fall

Thumbs up

The fact that Gondor wasn't even there explains a lot. Thanks!
