I think my favorites are Rivendell and ROhan. But I moslty just like all the forests and "peaceful" places.

I would no doubt live in the Shire! Like a few people here, Rivendell and Lothlorien seem too high and mighty for me to feel comfy. If I could choose where in the Shire to live, it'd be Buckland! I'd fit right in, what with everyone there being "queer" and everything.

My second choice would be Rohan, since I love horses and can't live without equestrian activity in my life. I also like the hardinger in the theme song. Heh, I can't get over how funny the word hardinger is...

Well, Mirkwood, Edoras, and Rohan would be my tops. I love the mountians, deep forests, and the sea. Where I live now, I have them all. I wish not to live.

I think Rivendell or somewhere near Curufin's land was by the sea. Iluvatar's halls would be the coolest though.

Question

I suppose my favorite spot in Middle Earth would be the Barrow Downs. Not joking, not saying that just to make an impression. I kinda like foggy climates, thought that may be 'cuz I live in a hot one. The Barrow downs would have been a nice place to live before it was assaulted by Angmar. (I think it was Angmar)

At first I thought Imladris or Lorien, but now I'm starting to like the Shire too.

When I listen to "Concerning Hobbits," I feel like I'm really there, and it makes me very happy.

My favorite place in middle earth would have to be Rohan they are tougher than than everyother place in middle earth (EXCEPT THE DWARVES)because they put up with constant attacks and the weather seems harsher than other places.I would like to know why every place in middle earth sounds like England? Sorry for going off topic

I will forever be torn between Rohan and Rivendell....and Lorien... and the Shire for that matter... and while we're on the topic I'm quite fond of Ithilien also...

The place closest to my heart in Middle earth has got to be the Dark Caves of Moria, not because of the bloody infestations of Orcs or other species but the wealth and extraordinary architectural possibilities left by the dwarves.
As a Civil Engineer I would love to be able to see the Dwarves turn Moria into its past glory...
Other places include the old forest, Bree and Ithilien which woods always remind me of the oak forest I grew up around in the South of France.

on top of it being a place, the shire means more to me than just a landscape. I hold out a last light of hope that real strong community can live in any sense in our own world.

The place I would most like to be would be Khazad Dum. It really appeals to be because of its sheer immensity and depth. It would really stir my heart to hear the deep throted singing of the naugrim in the dark places of their ancient dwelling. Alas for the awakening of the ancient shadow and flame!!

I would also love to visit the grey havens, they seem really mysterious and ancient and I love the sea. I would also very much like to meet Cirdan.

I would also be much intrigued to visit the little mentioned lands of the east and the south.

The Shire, without a doubt! Mostly because of the feeling of peace and comfort and being surrounded family and friends. Plus there's plenty of good food and an endless supply of Hobbits!

I would probably like Edoras the most...the feeling of a colder climate with endless plains is the place for me.

or...the lonely mountain, near the long lake...which might be the same as edoras.
