Two in Rivendell

Now, there is no place for poems, and I cannot start a new thread in the place where I think it could go, I will post it here, even though I expect it to get moved. (was that a run-on sentence? whatever )
Anyway, I entered a poetry contest, and the poem I entered was one that I wrote my freshman year. So I polished it up, and sent it in. And SHAZAM!!! It made it to the semifinals! This is a copy of it. It is published at poetry.com.

Two in Rivendell

He descends from Arathorn
She is an elf of Elrond''s descent
He is Aragorn, battle tested but worn
She is Arwen, fairest elf in lament

His great sword Anduril has pierced many foes
Her wisdom and knowledge surpass all land''s lore
He has fought evil till the midnight crow crows
For her land, her Rivendell, which she lives for

A man and elf, a very odd couple
Arwen the fair, Aragorn the Strider
Together in calm times, love is quite supple
Together they have fought the nine dark riders.

Even when Gandalf is gone, and Sauron sees light,
In Rivendell, they will dwell through the night.

Not the best, but I did alright for my first poem, I think!

Yea, not bad not bad! Works much better than the stuff I write. Simple, but if this is only your first poem, you're doing well.

Thanks, Volo! I really appreciate it! Maybe this can be the new poetry thread. (there is no place in fanfic for poems)

Thanks, doom_hammer. I cant help but find some of the lines I wrote kind of weak, but I will polish it up again maybe.

official poetry thread

Well, I hope to post one of my new poems in here soon, it is one I am using in my book (which is also, in very, very deep construction). Hopefully I can polish it up within the month...but I am not making an obligation
(I forget )
